Barcelona to bid £40 million for Tottenham star Gareth Bale
Barcelona have emerged as favorites to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale, reports reveal. The La Liga giants are apparently willing to make a bid of about £40 million for the left-back c*m winger, who has emerged as one of the most sought after players
in Europe.
Bale’s rise to fame was during the Spurs' qualification for the Champions League. The Welshman somewhat singlehandedly beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, which started a media frenzy over the player’s future. While Bale said he would like to continue with Tottenham for the
time being, manager Harry Redknapp revealed he had no intention of letting the player go.
In order to keep away possible suitors, Redknapp went ahead and placed a ridiculous price of £100 million on the 21-year-old. So far Barcelona have emerged as the only club willing to pay the closest amount, which is still some £60 million short of the demanded
amount.
The Catalan side will have some cash at their disposal, after having given up on Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard who almost made an Arsenal exit during last summer would have cost about around the same amount as Bale, if not more.
However, Arsene Wenger insisted the 23-year-old stay at the Emirates Stadium for another season, rejecting a bid of €35 million from Barcelona. Even though the young Arsenal skipper is still keen on a move, his dream of returning to his boy-hood club will
have to wait as the La Liga side seem to have lost interest in him.
The only crack in the armour Barcelona have is in their left-flank. Although, players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maxwell-c25051, Adriano and Eric Abidal are decent enough left-backs, all three lack that perfection of play Barcelona desire from each player, both in terms of defense and
offense. That’s where http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 comes in. The Wales international is the perfect solution to Guardiola’s problem and the Barcelona boss is willing to pay however much needed to make the move possible.
The £50 million move of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 sparked a debate about clubs not respecting the recent financial fair play regulations. Another big transfer will definitely not go too well with UEFA and
their rules.
Gareth Bale himself has denied a White Hart Lane exit at the end of the campaign. Bale said while speaking to reports, “At the moment I'm happy at Tottenham. The truth is I cannot discuss this matter. I'm enjoying the football here and I hope to improve.”
Bale said he was a Barcelona fan but preferred Tottenham, “Barca are playing great football right now. They show each week that they are a great team. But we do not fear anyone. We have no pressure. I think we have to play our style, without nerves and show
that we are good team.”
