Barcelona to go for a win against Real Madrid, reveals Andres Iniesta - La Liga news
With first La Liga El Clasico approaching fast, war of words between Real Madrid and Barcelona players is lilely to be begin now. Los Cules midfield architect Andres Iniesta has expressed that his team will go for the win, regardless of the circumstances.
Iniesta stated that his team will look to impose their attacking style of play when the Catalans lock horns with their fierce rivals.
The two Spanish giants are set to face each other on December 10 at Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
On the back of their impressive performances this season, Real Madrid are being tipped as favourties for the Clasico. They have been victorious in all 13 of their latest games and have been on a remarkable run since the start of the 2011/12 campaign.
Jose Mourinho’s men are currently poised at the top of La Liga standings, 3 points ahead of their great rivals. Better yet, Madrid have the advantage of having a game in hand.
However, Andres Iniesta has insisted that his team will not lack confidence ahead of the match with their rivals.
Iniesta said while talking to Barca TV:
"We will try to win, [just] as we always have. For us, nothing changes."
Iniesta emphasized that La Liga table's current outlook will not affect Barcelona’s resolve to attack and get a result.
“The situation is what it is and let's go for the win. Do not think it has to be different to previous seasons,” he stated.
“My reading [of the situation] is different [because] we have the chance to win at the Bernabeu, [even though] we know it will be a very tough match."
The Spanish international also expressed contradiction to the notion that the league may already have been decided. He insisted that there is still a long way to go in the season and that anything is possible.
However, he did admit that Real Madrid are in advantage but expressed that there is plenty of league action to come.
"I do not agree that the league is already decided,” insisted the midfielder.
