Barcelona vs. Almeria – Copa del Rey – First Half Report (Part 2)
The corner was taken short by Xavi Hernandez and nothing really turned out positive. However, with only two minutes gone, David Villa found himself in the same spot yet again but this time his shot was safely taken by Esteban who was guarding his goal with
all that he had.
The Catalans wanted an early advantage during the game and they did eventually found the back of the net. The scorer of the first goal could be none other than the Argentinean maestro Lionel Messi. The World Player of the Year got past not one but three
Almeria defenders and shot the ball from right outside the 18 yard box to find the back of the net. With the goal coming Barcelona’s way, the pressure from the home team released. However, Josep Gurdiola’s men were simply not done.
With only a minute gone, the Spaniard made another move on goal. It was the best Spanish striker of all time, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 was a part of the move yet again as the Argentinean gave the ball to
David Villa on the left hand side from right outside the box. Villa had little to do to find the back of the net and finished with his right foot to make it 2-0 for his side.
After two minutes, another goal scoring opportunity was made by the Catalan Giants and it was converted extraordinarily well by none other than Lionel Messi. The move was started by the Argentinean yet again as he gave the pass to Xavi Hernandez. The midfield
magician gave a wonderful cut-pass towards Pedro Rodriguez who made no mistake in giving a one-touch to “Leo” Messi. The Argentinean was on the right hand side of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Esteban-c12907’s goal and easily finished the move by a perfect finish with his extraordinary left foot.
The threats coming from the home team were definitely not over. There was barely anything that the visitors could do against such an organized Josep Guardiola’s side. The Spanish Champions were literally toying with Almeria’s defensive walls. There were
definite goal scoring chances for David Villa and Lionel Messi and the Argentinean had the chance to score the fourth of the game and his hat-trick; however, the fourth goal was taken by the Spanish youngster Pedro Rodriguez.
The Brazilian full back Adriano was fouled on the right wing and the Spanish maestro Xavi Hernandez and the brace-scorer of the game Lionel Messi both stood over the ball. However, it was Xavi Hernandez who decided to deliver the ball into the box and it
was inch-perfect for Pedro Rodriguez. The Spaniard barely had to do anything as he jumped on his toes and headed the ball to find the back of the net. It was 4-0 for the Catalan Giants and it was totally one-way traffic for the hosts who were ready to teach
Almeria another lesson but this time in the Nou Camp.
With the first half ending, Barcelona were leading the game with a four goal margin. There was barely anything in it for the visitors who only took a single shot on goal and that too did not find the target. There were barely any chances made by Almeria
that even looked close to being a threat to a well-organized Barcelona team. However, the Catalan Giants definitely looked to be adding more to the score board.
