Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid – Spanish La Liga Match Review (Part 3)
As the game continued, the Atletico Madrid players seemed to be frustrated as they grew tired. Barcelona were moving the ball around slowly and the away team seemed to have tired legs.
With the Atletico Madrid defence line getting slower, Lionel Messi decided to take advantage of the situation. The Argentinean star scored his first goal in the 26th minute of the first half.
Barcelona won a throw in on the right flank and it was Messi who decided to take it. His attempt seemed to be finding the back of the net but it just managed to tip over the cross bar.
Both the teams made necessary changes in the second half to change the cause of the game.

As the second half kicked off, Barcelona looked to be even better on the ball.
In the 53rd minute, Cesc Fabregas created a glorious opportunity for Lionel Messi to score the fourth for Barcelona. Messi found the ball inside the penalty area but his cheeky finish couldn’t really find the back of the net.
There was a dry spell after that opportunity as Barcelona were concentrating on keeping the lead to themselves and moved the ball around slowly.
The Spanish Champions finally scored their fourth goal during the 78th minute of the game.
The best player in the world, Lionel Messi was once again the man who found the back of the net.
After receiving a pass from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 got past three Atletico Madrid defenders and shot the ball to the far post to find the back of the net. It was simply a moment of brilliance which saw Messi scoring two goals in a single night.
Barcelona had a four goal lead and all they needed to do was to waste the time left on the referee’s watch. The Catalans did just that; however, Messi was not there to rest. The Argentinean star scored his third goal to complete his hat trick during stoppage time.
Messi dribbled the ball on the left flank and found the back of the net after placing the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs. His hat trick was well deserved and simply summed up his amazing performance against a tough looking opposition – Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona are now placed second in La Liga. However, Malaga’s result against Real Zaragoza will decide whether Barcelona will stay second in the league or not.
