Barcelona vs. Malaga – Spanish La Liga – Half Time Report (Part 1)
Barcelona were to face a side that are situated in the bottom half of the Spanish La Liga, Malaga. The Catalans Giants were hosting them at the Nou Camp and with Real Madrid drawing their game against bottom of the table side Almeria,
it was definitely a chance for the Spanish Champions to increase their lead by four points.
Josep Guardiola already explained that Malaga are a strong side to face at home hence an important fixture for the Spanish Champions was to proceed. The former Barcelona midfielder and the current coach decided to play his strongest men
as he did not want to take any chances against a team like Malaga.
Victor Valdes was the one who stood between the two poles as the Barcelona goal stopper. The Brazilian full back Daniel Alves played on his favourite right back position as the Frenchman Eric Abidal made his return to first team of La
Blaugrana featuring as the usual left flank full back. The favourite centre back pair http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique featured in the defensive back to help Victor Valdes in stopping any sort of threats coming at poles.
The midfield remained the same as well with the favourite holding midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Busquets-c33048 featured in front of the four defenders. Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta were the ones who featured in central midfield. However, Andres Iniesta
was the one who connected the midfield with the strikers as he made his run forward to help his team in scoring goals.
Up front, the highest scoring trio played; Lionel Messi, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 and Pedro Rodriguez all featured to help the team in scoring goals. With these three playing for La Blaugrana, the Catalan Giants found the net more than sixty times
which is one of the reasons this season has been labelled extraordinary.
On the other hand, the former Real Madrid coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Pellegrini deployed his men on the field with a 4-5-1 formation. It looked as if Malaga wanted to outnumber the Spanish Champions in midfield which is a task still to be accomplished
by any of the Spanish La Liga side.
Sergio Asenjo was the one who featured between the two poles as a goalkeeper. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Asenjo-c33042 blocking threats
imposed by the Spanish Champions. Duda, Apono, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Julio-c19950 Baptista were the players who featured in the midfield. Quincy Owusu Abeyie was the Malaga player who featured up front as a sole striker.
The game kicked off with a traditional Barcelona start as they started to dominate possession. It wasn’t long when the Catalan Giants finally took their first shot on goal but the Argentinean striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 just missed the target
hence the first chance on goal by Barcelona was wasted by their highest goal scorer. However, the Catalan Giants finally did make a breakthrough with only 8 minutes on the clock.
