Barcelona vs. Real Madrid – Super Copa – Match Review (Part 1)
After a 2-2 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu, Barcelona were to host their bitter rivals Real Madrid. Los Blancos were the better side in the stalemate which took place at the Bernabeu but Barcelona still managed to score two goals in order to keep an away goal advantage.
Josep Guardiola mentioned in the pre-match conference that Real Madrid were far more prepared and better than his side. However, he was happy with the result his team managed to get. An exquisite goal from David Villa and a Lionel Messi stunner helped Barcelona take a 2-1 lead before half time and later, Xabi Alonso scored the equalizer.
As the second leg of the Super Copa kicked off, Josep Guardiola managed to play his strongest side available.
