The Spaniard has taken out time to declare that his side’s latest victory in the Liga BBVA was dedicated to the Catalan tactician.
Barcelona’s Xavi Hernandez has expressed that La Blaugrana’s league victory over Valladolid was a tribute to the side’s head coach Tito Vilanova. The trainer was discharged from the hospital on the same day as the match.
Vilanova was diagnosed with a cancer relapse past week and physicians suggested that it could be dangerous for the mentor. However, the Spaniard underwent a successful surgery and has been reported out of danger.
It seems as though the Catalan tactician has already begun his road to recovery and could be seen on the sideline sooner rather than later. Nonetheless, the fact that he will have to endure 6 weeks of chemotherapy means that his return is likely to take
place in January.
While discussing Tito’s health, Xavi emphasized that the locker room at the Catalan capital is completely behind him. He added that every member of the team is in full support of their manager.
The midfield maestro declared that Barca’s victory over Valladolid is sign of that support.

"We want to dedicate the win to Tito," the 32-year-old midfielder told journalists.
"He’s not going through the best of times but now he’s home, and that’s great news. The operation went well and we worked hard to be able to dedicate this victory to him.The result consolidates our spot at the top of the table," the Blaugrana stalwart added.
"We’re on a brutal run and we want to continue on this path. We're physically strong and when we return from the break we want to continue on form."
The victory has taken the Copa del Rey champions 16 points clear at the top of the Spanish Primera Division’s league standings. The Catalans are still unbeaten in their league campaign so far.
