Barcelona’s Eric Abidal reckons Manchester United will find it hard against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 – UCL news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s Eric Abidal has revealed that Manchester United will have to come up with something special in order to stop Lionel Messi from coming at them. He was talking ahead of the UEFA Champions League final showdown between the two sides. The match is
set to take place on Saturday, May 28, at Wembley Stadium.
Abidal mentioned that Messi is a special player and the Red Devils would have trouble stopping the Argentine from coming at them. He further praised the 23-year-old and added that the magician possesses a special class and is certainly from another planet.
Abidal just recovered from a career threatening injury, a life threatening tumour that was removed from his liver. Since then, the 31-year-old has shown decent enough progress but it is still unclear whether the Frenchman would feature in the final or not.
When asked about what it would take to stop the Argentinean, Abidal added, "It's our little secret. If I answer that question, it will give it away to every other team. He still has many more years to come, and I hope he wins the Ballon d'Or more than anyone
else as he is so talented. We saw it against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid in the Champions League – at 1-0 he dribbled past four players to score. It's incredible."
The French International also remembered the 2009 Champions League final against the same opponents and believed that Barcelona once again stand a better chance of winning the competition. He reckoned that there is no such thing as home advantage to the
Red Devils neither the Catalan giants would allow them to enjoy such sort of an advantage.
The Spanish Champions would make a return to Wembley after the victory in 1992 final and Abidal hoped that he could take some part in the crunch encounter.
He concluded by saying, "It would be great to win at Wembley again and close the circle. I've had the opportunity to play there with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and it's an incredible stadium."
Barcelona are the current La Liga champions while Manchester United have snapped up the Premier League crown for the record 19th time this season.
