The Spanish defender predicted an intense couple of months coming up for Real Madrid and Barcelona as the race for La Liga and UEFA Champions League glory heats up.
Real Madrid have accrued a seven-point advantage over fierce rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604; however, Pique believes it is too early to rule out La Blaugrana from the title race.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup winner stated the Catalan team will fight to the end and put as much pressure as they can on their rivals.
"There is a lot of work ahead of us in the next two months but we are still alive and you can count on us being there at the end of the season.
"We will give everything in the league, it will be the others who will have to win it and it is going to be a long battle. We will put them under pressure, there are a lot of games including one at the Nou Camp," the three-time Champions League winner
said.
Pep Guardiola’s charges have come out on top against their Capital rivals but have stuttered on their league travels. La Blaugrana have dropped 13 points on the road and cannot afford another slip-up this weekend in Pamplona against Osasuna.
Despite their league blushes, Pique asserted that they are still in the hunt of silverware and pointed towards their standings in La Liga, Champions League and the Copa del Rey final showdown.
"I would have signed for where we are at the moment at the start of the season. We are very much alive in the league, in the Champions League and we are in the final of the cup," Pique said.
With Barcelona ready to give Real Madrid a run for their money, Los Blancos midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xabi-Alonso-c37045, stated that he is unfazed by what Barcelona do on the pitch. He added that Real will look to maintain their form rather than being distracted by their
lead over their arch-rivals.
The Santiago Bernabeu-based outfit welcome Levante for their next La Liga fixture. Alongside Barcelona, La Granotes are the only club to inflict defeat on Real Madrid in the current season.
