Barcelona’s Ibrahim Afellay would much rather spend the summers at hope instead of travelling with Netherlands
Barcelona forward and Dutch international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Uruguay-c3035, however, it seems like Afellay, just isn’t up for the trip.
The young Dutchman, made his move to Barcelona from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 in the January transfer window and has since made occasional appearances for the Catalans. The player still feels that he is being used a little to much and that it was not his choice to be a part of the national side’s summer tour, but rather his coaches.
Afellay when talking about the predicament that he is caught in, is reported to have said:"Of course, it would be better for me if I did not travel to South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 with the national team"
"Staying home is not an option in the coach's opinion and I have to respect that. We are already missing a number of players due to injury and we want to play with a strong team. I understand that and I don't want to let my team-mates down. Playing for Oranje is still an honour for me."

The player then went on to list a number of reasons, for him wanting not to participate in any serious footballing activities in the summer. He went from claiming his lack of rest following the FIFA World Cup, to the fact that he had to give his all to get a spot in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 spot.
Afellay then went on to add: "I did not have much of a break after the World Cup because PSV's season started again shortly after. I did not have a winter break either following my move to Barcelona, and it has not been easy to adapt to my new surroundings."

Based on what Afellay has presented, in his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 to not want to play for the Dutch national side in the summers, it is hard not to want to side with the player. Considering his career has just started to flourish, with him finally making a move to one of the top European teams, it would be a disaster to see him pick up a needless injury, which would not only halt his progress, but potentially threaten his career as well.
Nonetheless, whether Afellay plays in the South American tour of not, will be determined in the next couple of days.
