Barcelona’s Isaac Cuenca snubs Chelsea and Manchester United

Isaac Cuenca, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 under-21 international, has revealed that he wishes to remain with La Liga giants Barcelona despite being linked with a move away in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old winger was given his debut in the senior team last October and has gone on to make quite a name for himself. He has attracted the likes of Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, both of the English Premier League sides competing to get his signature.
However, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s youth academy product does not wish to leave the Spanish side any time soon. He revealed that even though his contract with Barcelona expired in the upcoming summer, he intended to sign a new contract and remain with the Catalan side.
He admitted that it was a dream for him to play for Barcelona, which is why he did not see himself leaving the club in the upcoming winter transfer window. Cuenca believed the manager had made the right choice by giving him the chance to prove himself in the first team.
Cuenca said while speaking to reporters:
“My deal will end in June but my plan is to remain at Barca. My desire is to sign a new contract and conversations regarding a new deal are very advanced.
For me to be in this team is a dream and now I need to prove to the coach that he was right to have trust in me.
I am very happy with how 2011 went for me, it was incredible and will be impossible to forget.”
The young winger joined Barcelona’s youth academy when he was only 12 years old in 2003. However, three years into the program he returned to his hometown and joined CF Reus Deportiu for two seasons. In 2009, he once again joined Barcelona and was promoted to the B team in 2010.
He was then loaned out to Sabadell for half of the 2010-2011 season, where he made a total of 32 appearances in the league and scored four goals. After returning to Barcelona, he was awarded his debut with the senior team and so far has made five appearances in the league and has managed two goals so far.
