Barcelona midfielder, Javier Mascherano, has insisted that he took the right decision to join the Spanish giants and quit Liverpool in the summer. The Argentinean stated that with Barcelona reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League, his move is justified.
Barcelona reached the final of the Champions League by defeating arch-rivals Real Madrid 3-1 on aggregate and will face Manchester United in a repeat of the 2009 final in Rome.
Mascherano claimed that he wanted to join a club which is capable of winning Europe’s elite club competition and Barcelona is definitely that club. He admitted it is very difficult to win the Champions League with so many top teams in Europe competing for
the title.
The midfielder had lost the 2007 final against AC Milan with former club Liverpool and stated that he is desperate to put his hands on the trophy this time. He revealed that his experience so far has been great and he wants to continue playing with the Spanish
giants for many more years.
“I know from personal experience how hard it is to get to the Champions League final, because I did it and lost with Liverpool [in 2007, and lost to AC Milan]. The feeling of doing it here is really good - it's why I wanted to come here,” the former West
Ham player was quoted as saying in an interview.

of the best players of all time.
“This was just another demonstration by Leo that he wears the crown and it's going to be very difficult for anyone to take it off him. He is making history and I think he is on course to prove he's the best of all time,” he concluded.
The 26-year old has made 40 appearances in his maiden season with Barcelona and is yet to score his first goal for the club.
