Barcelona’s Xavi has heaped praise on the fans, who made it possible for the players to win La Liga title this season. This was Barca’s third successive title under Josep Guardiola’s tutelage, which has certainly been the best era in their football history.
The midfielder was talking in the wake of his team’s 1-1 draw away to Levante UD, which was enough to hand Barca their 21st La Liga title.

the score for Levante. It ended at 1-1 which was certainly an acceptable result from Barca’s point of view.
Xavi was ecstatic at achieving this feat and dedicated the title to the ever chanting and vociferous home fans. He mentioned that it was a tough season as compared to the previous one but the fans enabled them to fight until the last moment, giving the squad
some much needed confidence. He congratulated the whole of Barcelona on this success and claimed that the Catalan giants would not be an easy opponents when they face Manchester United in the final of UEFA Champions League.
The midfielder further added, "As is always the case, the league has been hard but this team has a lot of talent. We must congratulate the whole of Barcelona because we are all one big team. The fans deserve our love and we celebrate with them on the streets."
The 31-year-old Spaniard also expressed his desire to complete a double this season by winning the Champions League. He hailed the team’s effort which made it possible for them to be in the finals and urged them to put another one of that last ditch effort,
which could make it a perfect season for the Spanish giants.
Both Barcelona and United are due to lock heads on Saturday, May 28, at Wembley Stadium. Before that, Barca would end their La Liga campaign with matches against Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday, May 15 and Malaga CF on Saturday, May 21.
