Barcelona’s Xavi impressed with his team’s consistent season - La Liga news
Barcelona’s Xavi has expressed his delight over his team’s hard work which has left them just a point away from their third consecutive title. The midfielder was all at praise for his current squad, which has worked really hard throughout the season and
couldn’t wait to lift La Liga title this term.
Barcelona are currently eight points clear of their arch-rivals Real Madrid and a single point would be enough for the Catalan giants to seal the title. Josep Guardiola’s side are next up against Levante UD and even a draw there would be accepted by both
the manager and the players.
Xavi urged his side not to relax against Levante and go all out in order to seal the title at the earliest. He laughed at the prospect of Real Madrid spilling points against Getafe and said that Barcelona should concentrate upon their game and not rely on
other results.
He further added, "We're very close to the title now. We know what result we need against Levante. I don't think that Madrid will spill points against Getafe, with all due respect. Of course, everything can happen in football, but I have a feeling that we
need a result against Levante to clinch the title. A draw would be good for both teams, but Barcelona are not the team to play for one point."
He hailed the efforts of his team and claimed that they have put up a terrific show this season despite it being a difficult campaign this time around. He also praised his team’s effort who finds themselves in the final of UEFA Champions League. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604
booked their ticket to Wembley after beating Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the competition. They will take on Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s Manchester United on Saturday, May 28.
He concluded by saying that Barcelona faced some stiff competition in this year’s campaign and was delighted to see his team standing where they are now. The Catalan giants are left with three games to be played and will next be in action on Wednesday, May
11.
