Villarreal striker, Giuseppe Rossi, could prolong his stay at El Madrigal after Barcelona’s bid for the 24-year-old was snubbed by their La Liga rivals, according to the player’s agent, Federico Pastorello.

in all competitions for the Yellow Submarine, making him a highly sought-after name across Europe.
Despite the Catalan giants failing to wrap up a deal for the Italian international, Barcelona are still being tipped as frontrunners to land the exceptionally talented forward. Having joined the Spanish club on July 31, 2007, Rossi could be on his way out
of Villarreal should Barcelona come up with a renewed and improved offer.
However, his agent has different thoughts altogether as he believes that Rossi could stay with the Yellow Submarine, as Barca have not tabled a second bid.
“Barca have never offered 30 million for Rossi. They have offered less and Villarreal demanded more and so in the end there was no agreement. Rossi wanted to move to Barcelona but now I don't exclude that he will remain at Villarreal for another year.” Pastorello
said.
Rossi’s dream transfer to Camp Nou was left dented after Barcelona turned their attention towards the signing of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979. The Catalans seem to have made Sanchez’s acquisition their priority as a transfer now looks imminent. Reports indicate that an
important meeting is scheduled to take place in the next few hours between Barcelona and Sanchez, where the two parties will hope to finalize the transfer deal.
“In the end, they [Barca] have gone for Sanchez, who will join them for around 40million [euros]. For the time being there are no negotiations in place. At the moment the situation is now closed. We will see what happens.” Pastorello added while talking
to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Rossi has a contract running with Villarreal that will expire in June 2016.
