Barclay Scottish opens 2010; at spectacular Loch Lomond

The seasons seems to be right time for golf, the summers are at their peak , some of the big names of golf which we often dream of dating are in the form of coming back. All golf lovers are in the mood to stretch themselves so that they can sit hours in front of the television screens, or under the sun tanning themselves. Just to watch their favourite sports being delivered like a treat! Adding up to the fun, which AT&T recently held in the previous week gave, Barclay Scottish open is all set to come. The spectacular event is going to be held at the golf course of Clan Colquhoun Estate. The venue is going to mesmerize the spectators with its beautiful mountains. With streams flowing in crisis crossed manner, banked by the freshly fragranced marshes, and barricaded by the luscious trees. The tournament is going to take place from 8th July to 11th July 2010.

World class golfers of the world are standing in the queue to take back home the prize amount of £ 500,000.Wow that’s a big amount of money. Just imagine how all the luxurious car manufacturers are going to take this money out of the winner’s pocket. On second thought, this task can also be performed by the beautiful wife. The Scottish Open like always is being played at Loch Lomond, constructed in 1994. For the very first time it was held in 1972 at Downfield Golf Club, but because of some hidden confidential reasons it moved to St. Andrew, but after Loch Lomond club was constructed, it has become the permanent limelight of the venue. The club is located in Argyll and Bute to the North of Glasgow, Scotland and it is privately owned by The Lyle Anderson Company. It has 18 holes in total. Loch Lomond Course was designed by Tom Weiskopf, and it has a Par 71 Length with yardage of 7,100.

The Scottish open has produced tremendous players. Right from 1972 when an English man Neil Coles flew home with £10000, the prize money, to a   German player Martin Kaymer in 2009, the tournament has improved not only in producing a quality game but giving 27 extinguish players of golf to the world.  Names like US Open Champion Lucas Glover, Masters Champion Phil Mickelson, Tom Lehman and many more are ready to play in the breath taking course of Loch Lomond, and no doubt this event like always will be a worthwhile paying for.

The Barclay Scottish open is going to take place one week before The Open Championship. One area that can act as a disadvantage to the European tour players as compare to the PGA tour is the lack of practice on the course similar to the venues. The event is being sponsored by primarily the Barclays’, Rolex, Ballantines, Ups, Laurent Perrier Champaign Cameron house, ladbrokes.com and many more. One can imagine the amount of advertisement that is being showered right before the game, well that is a different story.

Who is going to out shine is the question which needs pondering after all, some big guys of the golf world are coming back in it. Comparing the driving distance of both the players, Glover lands in 295 places, whereas Mickelson is at 300.3.The driving accuracy of Glover is 62% which is better than Mickelson’s at 51.9%. Putting per hole is 1.782 for Glover and 1.764 for Mickelson. Sand saves are 56.4% for Glover and 53.3% for Mickelson. Birdies per round are 3.62 for Glover and 4.02 for Mickelson. Lastly the eagles per hole are 133.7 for Glover and 112.5 for Mickelson. After going through these statistics, one can see that Glover is in better position to snatch away the prize money out of Mickelson’s hands. To sum it up, a fabulous game will be witnessed this summer next week, in loch Lomond, who wins it is the crucial question that can be answered only after the tournament.
