Barclays English Premier League – News Review: Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR:
Hotspur's English manager has termed his team’s upcoming fixture against AC Milan in the Champions League's round of 16 as 'a great challenge'.
Harry Redknapp said, "It's a great draw and we knew that would be the case whoever we came out against. This is an exciting game to look forward to. AC Milan have a fantastic record in the competition, they are top of the league in Italy and are full of
quality players. It's a great challenge for us. I said before the draw that I wouldn't mind playing AC Milan. You want to take on the best teams in the world and that's what the fans want to see as well. Now we've got the chance to bring AC Milan to White
Hart Lane for a great game."
Tottenham won their last Premier League match against Newcastle United by two goals at White Hart Lane. Redknapp's men are currently placed in fourth spot in the Barclays English Premier League with 33 points to their name from 19 games.
Spurs will play their next match on Saturday against Fulham once again at White Hart Lane.
WEST BROMWICH ALBION:
Scott Carson insists he will continue improving his play as this season unfolds. West Bromwich Albion’s number one has had to endure a tough start to the season.
West Brom have recovered well from a number of setbacks early on in the season and now look to retain a comfortable mid-table standing at the year-end. They have experienced several ups and downs upon their return to top flight English football, but still
appear well-equipped to preserve their top-flight status. The key to their ambitions though will be the form of their skipper, who has already been a consistent performer for them throughout the campaign.
Carson said, "I think I've learned a lot about the things that make a good goalkeeper and my aim for the rest of the season is to go on improving. Goalkeepers do reach their peak later, and that is because you learn the value of consistency. I was disappointed
the way the season started when we let in six at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, but I gave myself a kick up the backside and since then it has gone well."
West Brom lost their last match against Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 by three goals to one at home. That defeat saw Albion drop to the bottom half of the table. Baggies are currently in 14th place in the Premier League table with 22 points to their name from
19 games. West Bromwich will host Manchester United on Saturday for their 20th league game.
