Alex McLeish urges Hleb to step up
Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish says that Alexander Hleb’s training regime will have to be stepped up in order to get best out of him. The Birmingham manager has also revealed that the player, who is on-loan from Barcelona, has not been able to train a
lot.
Alexander Hleb, who was a key performer for Arsenal a few seasons ago, has been affected by numerous injury problems in recent seasons.
McLeish said, "Alex knows he is a big-time player and there are high expectation levels from him. He has got a reputation to preserve but he is not fully fit. He is not 100 per cent. If Hleb was fully fit, we know he would be shrugging off the challenges
on him. If we can get him fit, we know that he will be a different player and a player who can make a difference."
Birmingham City are currently 17th in the League standings with 19 points from 18 league games.
Moreover, the Blues record against the top four teams in the Premier League during the first half of the season has been really impressive. at St Andrews, and were able to grab a crucial point. Furthermore, Alex McLeish’s men also drew against Manchester City at Eastlands.
