Barclays Premier League: Midfielders that would fit in at Arsenal
Arsenal possess some of the most talented midfields in the modern game of football, however constant injuries and players going away for international duty always seems to dent Arsenal’s plan of successfully launching an attempt to claim any trophies. There were many midfielders who were brilliant during the 2010 World Cup, some of those players would be wonderful additions to the Arsenal line up.
The fact that Ozil was phenomenal is South Africa is understood. The young German tore through some of the best defenses in the World and displayed skill, speed, control and vision. The Whole footballing world took note of the young Germans talents. Ozil would be a great addition to the Arsenal squad, he is still twenty one and would be able to adapt easily to whatever role Wenger wants him to play.
Wesley Sneijder has proven he is easily one of the greatest midfielders to ever play football. He was outstanding for the Dutch throughout the World Cup, he also had a phenomenal season with Inter Milan, winning the treble. He currently has claimed he would not like to move, but the right offer could see him make his way to London. He would be a perfect fit at Arsenal since he plays with the same style that Wenger makes his players play with.
Bastian Schweinsteiger was a part of the sensational German team that took part in the 2010 World Cup. The twenty five year old is currently being pursued by numerous clubs from Europe and he has admitted to move away from Bayern Munich. He could bring the much needed experience to the Arsenal squad and with his tackling abilities he would be able to partner Song in the defensive midfielder role, which would allow the attacking midfielders and strikers more freedom up front.
He is more than capable of controlling the pace of the game and is good with both feet. He can even play as a winger or a striker if needed, his versatility and mentality could be highly beneficial to the Arsenal midfield.
Rafael Van Der Vaart may have not had the biggest impact at the World Cup but he is still regarded to be one the best midfielders out there today. He is currently employed at Real Madrid where is strgulling to find first team football and usually spends most games on the bench and occasionally comes on as a sub. This could be a decisive factor in Arsenal landing their man. He has an intelligent footballing brain, strength, speed and ability to play anywhere on the midfield.
He is also primarily left footed, whereas most of Arsenals current midfielders are right footed, hence this could also improve the overall impact of the team. He may a little more expensive to land then the rest of the players, but would definitely have one of the greatest impacts.
Whether or not Fabregas decides to leave is up to him, but it is safe to say there are more than enough capable candidates to replace him at the Emirates.
