Barclays Premier League - Newcastle United latest news
The in-form midfielder of Magpies, Joey Barton, has made no secret of his respect and admiration for his former boss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 by 3-1 two weeks ago, Joey Barton revealed that his new manager,
Alan Pardew, had impressed him shortly after taking charge of Newcastle United.
Alan Pardew only met Newcastle players for the first time one day before the Liverpool match, and Joey Barton said his new manager had wisely opted to adopt an attitude of if it isn't broken, there's no need to fix it. However,
Joey Barton also acknowledged that Alan Pardew had made a number of small adjustments to the way the side prepared for the fixture - and it paid off with the televised victory.
Barton, who scored the second goal in Alan Pardew’s first match in-charge, said: "I think he wisely let things just be and put his own little touches on it.”
Joey Barton added: "He was conscious not to make too many significant changes to what we do, which I think was the best way. He hasn't rocked the boat too early. Obviously, he's a manager with his own way of doing things and he
will try and filter that through to the players in the coming weeks and months, but at the moment he tweaked a couple of things he'd seen and thought from afar. We've got to keep looking upwards and stick together as a dressing room and as a football club.
We've got a decent team when everyone's fit, and we could surprise a few."
Moreover, the Toons coach remains confident his club would survive in the Barclays Premier League at least for this season.
The Magpies manager said that at the start of the season, he was well aware that it would be a difficult task to even survive in Barclays Premier League. However, his team survived against all weathers and it is expected that the players continue their impressive
form in order to remain in English top flight football.
Newcastle United is one of the three newly-promoted clubs of Barclays Premier League and are currently placed 13th in the league standings with 22 points to their credit out of 19 league games.
Newcastle United lost its last match against Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane by two goals to nil. However, the Toons will play their next match at DW Stadium against Wigan Athletic on 2nd January 2011.
