Barclays Premier League: Teams that would love to sign Fernando Torres
There have been countless rumors about Fernando Torres wanting to exit Anfield this summer, the main reason for this being the fact that Liverpool won’t be playing in the Champions League next season. Torres may have not been on top form but everyone has witnessed what he can do when he is fit, which is why almost every top team in Europe is looking to land his signature. Here is a list of teams that would potentially love to have Torres play for them.
Arsenal have been in need of a World Class striker for a while, so Torres might be the man for them. Torres might be too expensive for Arsenal but the fact that Wenger has said that he has money to spend, can only mean good news. Van Persie needs someone to partner him up front and Torres could very well be that man.
Inter Milan’s new manager, Rafael Benitez was responsible for Torres coming to Liverpool, hence it’s only obvious he would love to have the player playing under him again. Torres could add to the already dangerous line up that Inter boast and with his goal scoring abilities he might be able to help Inter achieve the same success as last season.
Barcelona love to sign Spanish players, especially the gifted ones. Barcelona have nine of their starting players in the national side. If Barcelona manage to sign Torres, they would have ten of those players as well as two of the most lethal strikers in the World. Along with Villa and Messi, Torres may achieve more personal success than he would get elsewhere. Barcelona are currently rumored to be more interested in signing Torres than Fabregas and with the deal for Cesc Fabregas almost falling out, it would be interesting to see how this one shapes up.
City have failed to break into the top four of the Premier League, they managed to finish in the fifth spot. This time around however they would be looking to go even further and they could and would like some help from Torres in doing so. City have all the funds in the world to aid this transfer which means money is not the problem for them. City are already flooded with strikers and their use and dispose policy might be something that could throw Torres off from considering a move to the Eastlands.
Last season’s premier league winners, Chelsea are still looking to strengthen their squad so that they can successfully retain their title next season. Torres could certainly add to this and could prove crucial in helping Chelsea retain their title. The club has already prepared a bid rumored to be as high as fifty million pounds for the Spanish striker. Chelsea already possess amongst their ranks some of the World’s best strikers in the shape of Dider Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, however the management strongly believes that they could do with another striker and that striker should be none other than Fernando Torres.
