Barclays Premier League round up - Aston Villa and Newcastle United
ASTON VILLA
Shrewsbury Town, which is playing in the fourth tier league of English football, have signed Aston Villa’s young striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-Collins-c17687 on a permanent basis. The young English striker is product of famous Aston Villa youth academy, however, the 21-year-old
attacker has failed to make a breakthrough into the first team.
James Collin had loan spells at Burton Albion and Darlington during his tenure at Aston Villa. However, Collins will join Town on a permanent basis and the striker will undergo a medical test on Thursday before signing a deal, which will see him at the club
for 18 months.
Shrewsbury Town manager said: "We have watched James on a number of occasions for both Aston Villa and Burton Albion and know what he is capable of. We have liked what we have seen and know that he will score goals, which was proven with five in 11 starts
at Burton. He is a quick, mobile and strong young player who will be a good addition to our squad. James is only 20 years of age and there is good scope for him to continue to improve and we are delighted that he is joining Shrewsbury Town."
Villa are currently battling relegation zone in the Barclays Premier League. Aston Villa, finished sixth in Barclays Premier League last season and are now placed 17th in the table with 21 points to their credit out of 21 league matches.
Aston Villa are through to the fourth round of FA Cup by defeating a Championship side, Sheffield United last weekend. The Villans lost their last match against Sunderland at Villa Park and their next match is against their city rivals Birmingham City.
NEWCASTLE UNITED
Derek Llambias, managing director of Newcastle United, has praised his players’ performance in the first half of the Barclays Premier League season. Newcastle United were promoted to Barclays Premier League in this season after winning the Championship with

Moreover, Llambias and owner Mike Ashley are pleased with Newcastle United’s progress in the league and are confident that the team will bring fruitful results in the future.

it.”

Newcastle United are currently placed in the top half of the table with 28 points under their belt out of 21 league games.
Newcastle United thrashed West Ham United by five goals at St James Park in their last Premier League match. However, the Toons crashed out of FA Cup in the third round after being defeated by Championship side, Stevenage.
Alan Pardew’s men will play their next Premier League match against their city rivals Sunderland at Stadium of Light. The Toons have already won this derby in the first half of the season when they defeated their rivals by five goals to one.
