Bardolet’s new blinkers promise victory in the Golf Before Racing At Southwell Handicap Hurdle on 29th February
The Class 4 Golf Before Racing At Southwell Handicap Hurdle will be held on Wednesday, 29th February at Southwell, raced over three miles and 110 yards. The race has a purse of £2, 559 that will be presented to the winner among the lineup of nine runners taking part.
Among the lineup, Bardolet, Snurge’s nine-year-old bay gelding out of mare Bonne Atthenagh, possesses the strongest credentials to qualify as a winner in the race today.
Bardolet has been successful in translating his debut start of the season in a victory. He won the Catterickbridge.Co.UK Handicap Chase on 20th January at Catterick, raced over three miles, a furlong and 110 yards.
Riding with James Reveley, Bardolet went through the nineteen fences and led the track of thirteen by two lengths. Toulouse Express was the runner up of the race while Beau Dandy followed third behind the winner.
Bardolet was the 9/2 joint favourite of the race and Samson Collonges, the other favourite concluded the race at the fourth position.
An advantage that Bardolet holds as opposed to the rest of the lineup is the fact that he will be racing with his blinkers on for the first time. The ability to concentrate and focus on the race along with being relaxed while racing will for sure do wonders for Bardolet.
It is highly likely that Bardolet will not only get entered as a favourite for a straight second time rather he will get the race going for him without any distractions that he may have had before.
Drussell, Orpen’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare Cahermee Queen, is being bet upon quite feverishly for the race. His seasonal debut was in the Connolly’s Red Mills Supporting Racing Handicap Hurdle on 27th January at Huntingdon, raced over two miles and five and a half furlongs.
