Question:

Bare light bulbs! New cover or new fixture?

On my balcony, there is a fixture with two light bulbs that turn on by pulling a chain. There is a ring around them, flush against the wall with three screws in it that look like they used to hold a glass cover on. The diameter of the fixture looks to be about 3.5 inches. Do they sell just plain glass covers, or do I have to buy and install a whole new fixture? If you can just buy a new glass cover, then is there a special name for the cover (I tried searching the Home Depot website, and I couldn't find just the glass covers)?

Thanks in advance for the help!

  1. New light fixtures are so inexpensive I would get a new one rather than spending time and money looking for a replacement part.

  2. you can go either way with this one for 10 bucks or less

  3. I have seen globes at both Home Depot and Lowes.  I'm sure they are available at Ace and most other hardware stores.  Try searching under globe or lamp globe.
