Question:

Bare your teeth...y cats dont laugh?

ive just realised we're the only creatures that bare our teeth in showing that we are friendly, i mean we grin...but all other animals bare their teeth to show aggression right?

oh yeah and i've always wondered why my kitty never finds anyrthing funny...why is that?. are we the only species that find things funny?( i suppose monkies grin and laugh too right?)

if u can answer my questions that'd be fab

  1. Hi there... interesting question of thought.  Primates can express themselves with a grin, however as you've recognized most mammals who bare their teeth is expressing aggression.

    Animals instincts are designed for survival which is why so many species do not have humour as one of the emotions.  Therefore, behaviour sthat does not require survival does not exist.
