<p>On Thursday, 14 February, Barisal Burners in the 41<sup>st</sup> match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League beat their rivals Rangpur Riders by 26 runs at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.</p>
<p>Barisal Burners, who chose to bat, got off to a modest start with the openers hammering 32 runs, before the fielding side made inroads with the dismissal of BJ Hodge, who perished with only 19 runs to his name. Sabbir Rahman was then the next to lose his
wicket without scoring a run.</p>
<p>All-rounder, Azhar Mahmood was disappointing today as he was dismissed by Abdur Razzak for nil. At the time of this wicket, Burners were sitting with 36 runs on the board.</p>
<p>Things were certainly looking bleak for the batting side; however, the partnership between Alok Kapali and P Mustard brought their side back from the brink of destruction as they took the score of 55, before Kapali became the next batsman to lose his wicket.
He scored 25 runs off 23 deliveries before finding his way back to the pavilion.</p>
<p>Mustard and MF Maharoof then continued the batting onslaught, leading their side towards 77 runs before the former met his demise after scoring 18 runs.</p>
<p>Alauddin Babu failed to give a show as he perished after scoring only five runs.</p>
<p>Maharoof and Elias Sunny then pulled off an unbelievable performance by jabbing a partnership which took the score to 139 with Maharoof smashing 34 and Sunny hitting a resounding knock of 30 runs.</p>
<p>From Rangpur Riders, Saju Datta was the best bowler with three wickets to his name.</p>
<p>Rangpur Riders had a terrible start to their run chase as they lost four wickets with only 17 runs on the board.</p>
<p>CJ Borgas and DP Hyatt then forged a commendable partnership as they countered the bowlers and took the score to 64. This partnership was broken by Nazmul Islam when he dismissed Borgas for 32.</p>
<p>Later, Hyatt perished after smacking 25 runs and KJ O'Brien found his way back by hitting 29 runs, as their side was dismantled for 113 in 20 overs.</p>
