Barisal Division v Dhaka Division – National Cricket League, 2012/13 – Match Update – Dhaka Division claim innings win, finish as runners-up
With Khulna Division having been crowned National Cricket League champions, the Dhaka Division went on to finish as runners-up, after defeating the Barisal Division by an innings and 105 runs, in their match at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi,
played from December 7 to 10.
Dhaka Division won the toss and chose to field first, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khondaker-Mosharraf-Hossain-c71365 (26-7-73-2) leading the attack. While most of Barisal’s batsmen failed to convert their starts into substantial scores,
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khandaker-Ziaul-Islam-c71330 (55) chipped in with sizeable contributions, and early on day two, the team found themselves all out at 256.
Dhaka, however, sprinted past the Barisal Division during their second innings, with the efforts of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-c88163 Hossain (5-1-18-2) eventually going in vain. The innings was driven by Player of
the Match http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rony-Talukder-c86822 (85), Shuvagata Hom (71), and tail-ender Mohammad Sharif (54) chipped in with supporting performances. Together, they managed to work their way up to a final total of 474 before they
were all out on day three.
Barisal were eventually unable to exceed the total posted by the Dhaka Division. Mosharraf Hossain (11-3-50-5), http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahadat-Hossain-c2480 (10-2-24-3), and Mohammad Sharif (10.2-2-31-2) launched a ruthless assault, which effectively tightened the noose around Barisal.
Only five batsmen in total were able to exceed single-digit scores, and even then, their contributions were too paltry to make much of a difference. Debutant Shahriar Ripon was the top-scorer with 31, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamrul-Islam-c70149 Rabbi (16*), wicketkeeper skipper Shahin
Hossain (12), Iftekhar Nayem (12), and Salman Hossain (10) all made minor contributions.

applied by their opponents, Barisal were bowled at 113 on the final day of play, and the Dhaka Division went on to claim a massive victory, by an innings and 105 runs.
