Barisal Division v Sylhet Division – National Cricket League, 2012/13 – Match Update
A concentrated bowling attack spearheaded by the indomitable http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Enamul-Haque-jnr-c56009 saw the Sylhet Division going on to claim a comprehensive 165-run win over the Barisal Division in their first-class match during the ongoing National Cricket League, played at
the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khwaja-Abdur-Rab-c71413 Serniabad Stadium in Barisal from November 16 to 19.
Sylhet won the toss and chose to bat first, but Barisal’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Fariduddin-c76862 (18-7-38-2) did not allow them to make full use of their decision. Opener Sayem Alam (82) was the
only one who managed a competitive total, and from the remainder of the batting order, with the exception of wicketkeeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Golam-Mabud-Chowdhury-c60273 (27), none of the batsmen managed to pass 20. Day two resulted in Sylhet being bowled for a first innings total of 206.

Sylhet managed a slightly better showing during their second turn at bat - Sayem Alam (84) once again top-scored, but this time he was aided in his efforts by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ezaz-Ahmed-c56559 (40). Monir Hossain (23-3-62-3), Fariduddin (22.1-4-53-3), and
Syed Rasel (12-2-47-2) did their best to limit the opposition, but Sylhet managed to reach 239 before they were all out on day three, setting Barisal a 315-run target.
The home team, however, were unable to rise to the challenge posed by the chase. Player of the Match Enamul Haque jnr (31-11-61-6) launched a fierce defence of his team’s total, with Nabil Samad (17.5-5-37-3) once again chipping in as a supporting act. Fazle
Mahmud (31), wicketkeeper skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Arafat-Salahuddin-c45318 (22), and Iftekhar Nayem (20) were the main contributors, but their efforts were not sufficient enough to get their team over the line. The final day saw Barisal bowled for 149, with
Sylhet going on to claim a comfortable 165-run victory.
