http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Moyes, has insisted that the Toffees starlet, Ross Barkley, has returned from his loan spell as a better player and he is now prepared for the Premier League action.
The 18-year old was sent out on loan to the Championship outfit, Sheffield United in September. After serving out his stipulated deal with the Owls, the midfielder was recalled on Wednesday by the Merseyside club. He made 13 appearances during his brief
spell with Sheffield and netted four goals.
The talented schemer is expected to ease the manager’s midfield problems, which got worse last week after a knee injury to skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Neville-c29904.
The veteran English player underwent a knee surgery on Friday and has been sidelined for at least the next two months.
After having undergone an impressive loan spell, Moyes thinks that Barkley has come out as a better player.
The 49-year old Scott observed that the youngster struggled during his early games, but went from strength to strength with the passage of time.
The Goodison Park boss also insisted that the midfielder will bring extra value for the team, and could fill in the void of Neville.
“We were happy for Ross to go out there and play the games on loan. I think it’s been good for him,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“For the first three or four games it took him a little bit of time to settle, but he has then made a bigger impression.”
The Toffees reaped the rewards of employing the same policy with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leon-Osman-c22041, back in 2003-04, when the English International was sent on loan to Derby County. The 31-year old came back as a much improved player and has, ever since, remained a central player
in the team’s midfield.
However, Moyes refused to draw comparisons between Barkley and Osman, insisting that their deals were not ‘similar’ in nature.
“I wouldn’t say it’s an exact similarity, but we put Ross out to try and get him ready for Premier League action,” he added.
Ross Barkley has represented Everton in 10 professional matches in all competitions.
