Barnish Phil vying to win Puppy Trophy (Heat 2)
Barnish Phil is keen to clinch top spot in the Heat 2 contest of William Hill 480m Puppy Trophy that will take place at Nottingham racecourse on Monday night, April 23.
The high-stakes Open Race over a distance of 480 meters is scheduled to start at 21:07 (GMT). A prize cheque of £125 is ready for the would-be winner.
Barnish Phil looks to be confident enough to compete against five strong rivals like Kooga Krug, Tazis Artemis, Farloe Tango, Tippy Court and Bloom Always.
The G. Wilson-trained black dog made his debut with a marvellous victory on February 18, 2012. He went on to get a runner-up rank on February 25.
During the month of March, the dashing dog bagged a couple of triumphs along with a runner-up position.
After finishing 2nd in a race on April 9, the brilliant runner proceeded to win two races in a row on April 14 and 20. Now, he is on the brink of a hat-trick. So this race is going to be greatly significant for him.
The maverick dog is awash with immense winning momentum which suggests that he will make a big impact in tonight’s marathon. His chances to finish first are as high as 95 percent.
However, Kooga Krug and Farloe Tango can trigger upsets as each of the duo possesses enough potential and talent.
Kooga Krug is also looking to complete his hat-trick by winning the Trophy. The R. Devenish-trained black dog bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs each on April 9 and 16. Prior to this, the son of Honda Black out of Farloe Oyster had broken his maiden
in his maiden outing on March 29.
On the other hand, Farloe Tango has been performing well since the dawn of his career. After finishing first convincingly in his maiden start on February 13, 2012, the C.Lister-trained novice runner went on to accomplish another sterling success on April
9.
In this situation, a tough tug of war is expected among the above three hounds. Let us see how Barnish Phil manages to pave his way towards victory. Good luck to all the runners.
