The first day of the four-day match between Baroda and Odisha, in the ongoing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Baroda-c769 bowlers had a spectacular day, as they bowled-out their opponents on a meagre tally of 181, giving their batsmen an opportunity to end the day by posting 34 runs on the board for the loss of only one wicket at Moti Bagh Stadium, Vadodara.
After winning the toss, Baroda, invited their opponents to bat and made headways by taking their first wicket with only eight runs on the board when Vahora dismissed BS Pati (8).
Then with 13 on the board, the batting side lost their third batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Natraj-Behera-c78851, who fell with four runs to his name.
Losing two early wickets, brought N Behera and GB Podder in the middle as the two forged a spectacular third-wicket stand, taking the score to 83 before the former was removed by Bhatt after he had amassed 20 runs.
Podder was then joined by BB Samantray, but this partnership was short-lived as Bhatt removed the latter with four runs to his name. By this time, the batting side had posted 87 runs on the scoreboard.
Odisha then lost two more wickets with 105 runs on the board, as AK Sahoo fell for nine, followed by the wicket of DR Behera for nil.
The side then struggled as they reached 130 runs, before suffering the loss of another wicket when LL Samal perished after hammering a knock of 14 runs. He was caught and bowled by Vahora.
With GB Podder doing so well, the fielding side were still feeling the heat, but they soon took care of this problem when Bhatt struck for the fifth time. The batsman fell belting a superb innings of 82 runs. SV Sehgal then stayed unbeaten on 37 as his side crumbled with 181 runs on the board.
BA Bhatt was outstanding today as he grabbed six wickets to cripple the Odisha batting line-up.
Baroda then ended the day with 34 runs on the board for the loss of one wicket.
