Barracuda Boy prepared for a straight second success through the John Budworth Hughes Memorial Nursery  
The Class 3 John Budworth Hughes Memorial Nursery has attracted a line-up of eleven two-year-old runners for the five furlong race at Haydock on Saturday, 11th August. They will compete for the prize money of £7,439. Majority of the contestants are really lightly raced and some have not been able to post success ever since they cracked into the racing career.
Bahamian Bounty’s son has four races to his credit with just the most recent one taking him to the winner’s enclosure. The Tom Dascombe trained did not clear the maiden on the first asking rather failed in the second and third attempt too. However, the two-year-old bay colt did display his potential by bagging the handicap debut.
He slid into the season on 28th April, 2012 in the Crownhotel – Bawtry.com Maiden Stakes at Doncaster over five furlongs. Sent in as the favourite entry, Barracuda Boy finished six lengths behind the winner, Cumbrian Craic.
He was paired up with jockey, Richard Kingscote for the maiden stakes.
The very next chance of the Laurence A. Bellman owned was in the Buckley's Silver Wedding Anniversary Maiden Stakes on 12th May, 2012 at Haydock over six furlongs.
Yet again sent as the favourite entry, the two-year-old ended fifth as the winner, Euxton Hall broke the maiden by the margin of 1 ¼ lengths. The favourite entry was coupled with jockey, Tom Eaves, for the race.
The third attempt at the maiden by the bay colt out of, Madame Boulangere, was at a third different venue. He ended third in the Beechwoodmg.Co.UK Median Auction Maiden Stakes on 4th June, 2012 at Leicester over five furlongs.
Barracuda Boy’s fourth attempt was an entry in the Winning Connections Club, Bath Nursery on 19th July, 2012 at the Bath race course over five furlongs.
With Richard Kingscote onboard, the two-year-old defeated the runner-up, Indian Affair, by just half a length. Filing in the third spot behind the winner was, Windforpower.
The 8 to 1 entry for the race will become the mount for the genius jockey, Silvestre De Sousa, as the duo has drawn the sixth gate.
