Barrel Racing question!?

I've got a sorrel red roping horse in training for barrels and pole bending! Well my dad says that I need o neck reign him around the barrels and poles but the magazines and everyone else says tha I need to pull his head around! ow this horse will do either way but my dad doesn't want me to start oulling him around it b/c he is mainly trained to be neck reigned more!!

If he's doing well with neck reining there's no reason to change it just because everyone says so.  It's a nicer way of asking so if he's responding well it's best to reserve pulling him around for if and when that changes.
