Question

does anyone know were i can buy a barrel saddle that isn't really for show,

You can find a good one at a local tack store.  Depends on what style you want too.  High back seat or low, a bear-trap or open style.  I picked a used one up from putting out word of mouth to some old cowboys.  It only cost me 150, and is a great working saddle.  If you don&#039;t care about fancy names but about quality, go with a used one that way you can see how it wore and held together before you buy, plus you get the added bonus of it being inexpensive! lol  Try craigslist.org as well.  Hope this helped a little!

If you want a cheaper but fancier but not showy one Teskey&#039;s or your local tack store would be your best bet!  Teskey&#039;s also sells used saddles!

Most Billy Cooks are plainer but good Quality! I have had my Billy Cook for about 5 years and it is still holding strong.

You can also try a Teskey&#039;s Brand Saddle they run a little cheaper I believe.

Most Barrel Saddles are less showy anyhow so you should be able to find one that suits what you are looking for.

Or your tack shop that sells things on consignment.

also you may ask your tack shop about cheaper barrel saddles.

you can go to auctions where they sell tack, they have a lot of cheap barrel saddles there.

another place is garage sales and tack sales, they may have name brand saddles that are just a little used.

and the best place i can suggest is craigslist.com look under farm and garden.
