Question:

Barry Bonds?

For awhile I keep hearing about Barry. I am wondering why nobody will pick him up, regardless of all the problems. I think he would be great on an AL team as a DH, he doesn't have to field just hit. Let me know what you think?

  1. i think he is asking for $20 million to play maybe 120 games in a full season, and the media distraction  he becomes is a huge problem...i also think that because most fans of the game dislike bonds, it will cause a problem among the fan base of whatever team he goes to, unless he were to somehow go back to san francisco, probably the only major league city that loves him

  2. Because of the baggage that he comes with.

  3. Yes i wonder that too. Why wouldnt a team pick him up as a DH for that play off push. I remember hearing once too that he was going to take the league minimun just to play or something like that on sports centre.

  4. because he obviously takes steroids, and if another team gets him then it will make the team look cheap and i i guess all there sponsors would leave, so they wouldnt make as much money

  5. because they dont want to deal with the drama

  6. He's 44 years old. He has nothing to offer except the possibility of offensive production. After not facing live pitching for almost a year, there will be kinks to work out. Coupled with his attitude problems and his reputation for being a team headache, it's not hard to see why he still hasn't found a baseball home.

  7. He brings alot of baggage where ever he goes...Trust me if he didn't didn't bring the baggage,he'd already be wearing a Yankees uniform.

  8. ok how do all these jackasses know he has a "HUGE" attitude problem, im sick of it, he got indicted, sure but you get two and a half maybe more months of baseball out of him for the league minimum to make your lineup far more feared. how do they know that hes a clubhouse cancer? have they teamed with bonds? id love to see one jackasss on here tell me how hes such a clubhouse cancer. im really tired of these "know-it-alls" WHO DONT KNOW A THING!

  9. cause of how he is , he has a HUGE  attitude problem , and the whole negative media attention would cause a big distraction to the team that signed him , the cons outweight the pros

  10. I don't think he expressed interest at this time to play.I read a quote from his agent in the Dallas Morning News on the subject.I think an AL team would benifit with him dh ing.

  11. I think they mean the reporters that are always trying to ruin his career....If they hate him so much and his family ..why do they follow him and no one else... He is a great teammate

  12. The Yankee organization has made this clear to many reporters. Barry, when healthy has a good swing but when he plays, distractions happen or rather "the circus comes to town". Anyway, he's 44 years old and hasn't been to spring training,so I doubt he's in playing shape. Could they give him a try? sure, will they? Probably not.

  13. He is a good hitter, but a very bad person, and most teams don't wanna player that is surrounded by controversy and bad publicity.  He's is by no means a fan favorite.
