Barry Norgrove sells Kidderminster Harriers
Chairman Barry Norgrove has put Kidderminster Harriers up for sale.
Norgrove believes that he has taken the club as far as he can and that he does not have the finances to invest more money into the club. The Kidderminster chairman believes that this would be detrimental to the club.
"I feel I am holding the club back. We need fresh investment to get to the higher end of the table and I do not have the finances to do that,” said Norgrove.
"But I just feel now that, with my own business struggling, and with the tragic loss of one of our directors earlier this year in Gordon Howard, I am not in a position to take Kidderminster Harriers forward in the way I would like,” he added.
Kidderminster has struggled to raise its profile and attract fans to Aggborough since they were relegated from the football league in 2005.
The side is currently languishing in mid-table of the Blue Square Premier League and have taken 19 points from 14 games.
Norgrove said, “I have been here for 10 years and have done all I possibly can, and we have had some success along the way.”
The Kidderminster Harriers chairman was optimistic about the future and believes that the club can return to the football league once the right investor is found.
“There are people out there looking for football clubs. I know that for a fact. I have made this decision and it is final. I really do hope that we can find the right person or people to help push us on," said Norgrove.
The Harriers chairman also believes that the club is a great investment since the basis of a good management team and squad are already in place.
Norgrove will hope that a potential investor will be able to move the club forward.
