Manchester City’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Barry-c14423 is hopeful that he is going to recover from his hernia operation and be fit in time to start the coming season with the rest of the team.
Last season, Barry admitted that he seemed to be having some difficulties, while revealing that he might have needed to get some work done.
However, he later on went on to rule himself out of the Euro 2012 since the pain was getting a little too unbearable for him to deal with.
Since then the midfielder went on to have surgery done on him, but the recovery time following the procedure seems to be taking far too long.
Despite that fact, Barry has gone on to insist that he is on the path to recovery and that his surgery was a hundred percent successful. He is now certain as to when he will be a hundred percent again, but for the time being he is aiming to be available
for the opening game of the season.
Barry told the club's official website: "I had an operation two weeks ago. It's just an on-going problem really from last season that didn't seem to heal up.
"I felt it again when I went away with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and so I had some time off, but it still didn't clear up, so the next step was the operation.”
"The problem was in the stomach, so after seeing a specialist I had a hernia operation. The main aim of it was to repair the muscles inside and make them stronger.”
"Early signs are really good, the scars have healed really well, but we'll see how I feel when I start playing again. Fingers crossed it will all have healed up.”
Even though the midfielder is pushing to make it back into the team, it might be wiser for him not to do so. The City squad is well equipped to perform in his absence and it would be better for him to take his time and avoid having any recurring problems.
It is now a wait to see just when the midfielder manages to play for City again.
