Manchester City’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Barry-c14423 has admitted that a Europa League final between Manchester City and Manchester United would be like a dream come true.
Both Manchester City and Manchester United were knocked out of the Champions League in the group stages of the competition and as a result, the teams were forced to contest in the Europa League.
Following their arrival into the competition, both the teams have been hailed as the favourites to go on and win the tournament.
Barry seems to feel the same way and has gone on to admit that an all Manchester final would be a brilliant conclusion to the tournament.
When talking about the possibility of ending the tournament against United, Barry is quoted to have said: "They are always fantastic games and if that means us getting to the Europa League final and meeting them [Manchester United] then it would be a fantastic
day"
"There's still a lot of football to be played but it would be a fantastic occasion.”
"When we came out of the Champions League and into the Europa League the manager made it clear that he wants to win it and that's where we are at the moment."
Despite the defender admitting that facing United in the Europa League would be a brilliant idea, he has admitted that him, along with the rest of the City squad are also determined to maintain their lead against the Red Devils in the Premier League, as
they are looking to win the title of being English Champions at the end of the season.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international has admitted that the team has not been winning their games to prove a point against United, but have been doing so, to ensure their domestic success.
He then went on to end on a high, as he stated: "We've not been winning games expecting [United] to slip up, we are winning games because we know we have to. We have to solely concentrate on ourselves as we know that they won't slip up."
It is now a wait to see just how the season ends for City.
