Save your money and apply for a barback postion learn your trade and get paid at the same time those schools are a joke and they will not help you get a job Ive bartended for over 15yrs and as a Bar Mgr. would never hire from the schools they cant teach you interaction w/customer and the staff like hands on goodluck hey!

Working as a bartender for restaurants(bars/clubs may be different) I've heard from several different area managers that say they refuse to hire a bartender from a school trained program. Reasons behind this is because they find the schooled bartenders are cocky and can't keep up.  Plus they still generally make you make your way through the ranks in the restaurant.  I suggest working in a restaurant as a server and asking bartenders if they need anything(ice restocked, glasses cleared out of the bar ect.) bartenders will appreciate the help and managers will see hard work and determination.  -if youre still set on going to a bartending school there is an aims academy here in ft worth.
