Hi everyone!
My vote is that it is definitely NOT safe in this advanced case of fire blight. Nearly all the leaves are black, many branches are black and crooked and there is lots and lots of oozing (everywhere) but owner is reluctant to accept that the crop is unsafe for consumption.
The pears are very large and it is a very large crop. However, there is oozing streaks on lots of the pears and I told him, that anyone who ate these pears would be putting themselves at risk. I've been searching for info from those who are experienced and would be able to convince the Bartlett owner that the crop must go. Any info or links are appreciated. Thanks very much!
