Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 midfielder, Joey Barton has been given extra time to appeal against the red card that he picked up on the last day of the season.
The midfielder went on to have a mental break down in the last game of the season against Manchester City, as he went on to elbow http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030
Aguero by hitting him on his thigh, before trying to head butt http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184.
As it stands, the player will have to sit out the next four Premier league games, considering he was shown two red cards this season. However, based on his actions while walking off the pitch, the midfielder could end up missing as many as three more games
as well.
As a result, the player could miss around seven to ten games for QPR, once the new season kicks off.
The player was originally set to have a trial on Tuesday, but the FA has given the midfielder some more time to try and think through what he has done and present his case to them.
Gordon Taylor, who is the chief of the PFA, when talking about the incident and the player is reported to have said: "I just feel sometimes like it is pushing a boulder up a hill, it slips back and you decide whether to go again”
"We try to deal with Joey Barton and it is not getting any easier." It has certainly been a backward step for him and his future in the game."
Despite the fact that Barton almost single handidly caused QPR to get relegated this season, it seems like the team is still keen on keeping him around.
The chairman of the club, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Fernandes, when talking about the midfielder and his future at the club is reported to have said: "Joey has been an integral part of the club and has played his part. Cisse has been sent off twice, and I think he was critical
for us in terms of getting goals."
