The English midfielder who is currently on-loan at the Ligue 1 outfit from Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, might extend his stay at the Canebiere on a permanent basis
Talented player with behaviour of sulphur, Joey Barton is trying his best to revive his footballing career through a loan move at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127. However, once his loan spell at the Velodrome is complete, there might be a chance that he stays at
the club a little while longer which is something that his parent club, Queens Park Rangers would be delighted at.
Barton arrived at Marseille in the final few days of the summer transfer market. Many players in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 must have heaved a huge sigh of relief upon seeing the temperamental and hot-headed midfielder cross the Channel.
Due to his outlandish prank on the last day of last season at Manchester City, the former Newcastle United midfielder was slapped with a 12-game ban. The ban is still in effect in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 but the player can play in the Europa League.
A true leader, the player seems to have a chance to return to his previous best. In Marseille’s Europa League win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AEL-Limassol-c38226, the England International did not enjoy the best of games but showed signs of true leadership.
Barton has already taken to his new surroundings and it is evident that he is enjoying his time at Canebiere. However, it still remains to be seen what happens when his loan spell ends. Marseille would need some cash to keep the player and it appears that
QPR are also keen on having the player off their back for good.
And, the Hoops executive director, Phil Beard has hinted that the hot-headed midfielder might extend his stay in the Championnat.
“Everything is possible. Joey is still under contract with QPR. Everything will depend on how the loan is going and we will discuss this at the end of the season. We bought Joey when Neil (Warnock) was the manager and we needed experienced players. We did
it with good intentions. But I think it is fair to say that the club has evolved over the last 12 months. There is no question of questioning the quality of Joey as a player.”
The executive director then added that if Barton manages to control the other side of his life, he still has three good years to offer so he must concentrate on his game.
