Basal temp drop???

I have been very consistent with taking my basal temp every morning. And noticed a decent drop this morning, could this mean I am or about to ovulate??

We've been trying for 2 months now and this is my first month doing the temps and charting, so i am a little confused.

  1. I'm taking it as though you havent ovulated yet this cycle.  if so then its hard to say because your temp can basically do anything it wants to before your ovulate.  it doesnt even have to drop...it just needs to spike the next day for ovulation to have occurred.  thats the thing with charting...it lets you know if you did ovulate, but it doesnt let you know until after it happens.  its meant to be used as a guideline for the months to followif your regular in your periods.  good luck.

  2. Sorry not enough info, your temp can drop several times before ovulation and not actual be ovulation. it just depends, considering it's your first time charting your temps and with no past charts to go by it's just too hard to say. but if you are roughly midcycle (or 14 days since period thereabouts) then yes there's a real good chance you're ovulating today, so get to BDing to make sure you cover your chances, with charting there's no way to know ahead of time if it's ovulation so therefore anytime you get a significant drop in temp BD so that if it is Ovulation you're covered.
