Basas guitar beginner?

Hey i've decided to learn to play the bass. what would be a good bass for me to start out with and how should i go about picking i play trombone so i can read music thx

  1. if you want a solid cheap bass. i really liek ibanez. fender basses become a great standard once you get better at bass, but they are about 400 dollars to start with. get something cheap to start with... and you may even still ike playing it whemnm you get better


  2. You can never go wrong with a Fender Precision bass or a Fender Jazz bass!

    I can't help you any with technique, because I am a guitar player! But Fender instruments are the most versatile, and the best value for your money!

  3. Definitely go with an Ibanez if you're just starting. You don't get a bad sound for a good price with it. I suggest going into a music store - guitar center is a really good one.. the people that work there usually know what they're talking about - and just trying some out. Don't pick a bass based just on how it looks. ibanez is good about making really awesome looking basses though so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just make sure you're comfortable with the instrument before you buy it.
