i wanted to ask something diffrent for change

Is it okay, not good for baseball.

Whats your Opinion.

Would you hit a rookie if he showed you up.

I think its okay if you do it once in a while, you know nothing against it, but if you do so often it gets annoying .

The hitting rookie i ask becuase last year Ryan Braun, hit a hr v.s the Astros and showed up the Pitcher and then , when they played again the Astros Pitcher hit him , and moved on .

  1. i think showing up the pitcher is fine, but they should expect to be hit, no matter who they are.

  2. Not enough pitchers have the balls these days to stand up to hitters who show them up.  It should be mandatory.  It is a stain on baseball and should be dealt with accordingly.

I remember one time a player hit a homer off bob gibson that knocked the cardinals out of the playoff race.  The next time gibson faced him he hit him inthe throat. (It was the second exhibition game of the following season!)  Not enough pitchers like gibby nowadays

  3. Lack of class!

  4. If you are going to get beat take it like a man. Every pitcher gives up a home run to a batter that maybe is a rookie or is just a bad batter, but you suck it up and don't have a little fit like a four year old. It shows like of class not only for himself but for his team to.

  5. Ryan Braun did that against St. Louis recently. He can be a jerk at times, but then again, we all can be.

  6. I like when players act like they have done it before and plan to do it again, admiring it like it is the first HR you have ever hit and then taking fifteen minutes to round the bases just shows everyone that you are self centered and feel that you are bigger than the rest of the game.  I am alright with a guy showing a little emotion when he hits a pivitol home run but to strut down the line clapping and pointing in the air when you just hit a HR to pull your team within five runs in the 8th inning is ridiculous.  Especially in the pros, they are jsut doing their job, if I finished an Engineering plan set and then danced around the office I would be greeted with a box to put my belongings into...they need to act like the professionals that they all claim to be.

If they get drilled afterward then they deserve to get hit!

  7. I'm old school. If you get hit by a pitch, be a man and go take your base. Same as a single. If a batter lights you up, go get his butt out on his next plate appearance. And hitting another batter because of his lighting up another pitcher is CS. I got hit lots of times batting. I just made the opposing team pay for it on the base lines. Too many p*****s in baseball today. My favorite game incident is Nolan Ryan whipping Robin Ventura's butt on national t.v.

  8. I think it's classless.  I hate it when players do it.  They look like morons.

When a player shows up a pitcher, I hope to God that the pitcher plunks him the next chance he gets.  It's a lack or respect.  And I know that some players who do it are the first to complain if it happens to one of their teammates.

  9. actually, it goes both ways--i have seen numerous pitchers show up the entire other team with fist pumps after a strikeout in a key situation. Yes, batters do, too. And as someone has said, it is all a matter of class, but also one of ego--no one wants to lose and sometimes the "showing up" thing is overblown. All in all, thats life, not just sports/baseball.
