  1. because a right handed batter can see the ball easier when it comes out of a left handed pitchers hand and vice versa.  also when the pitcher throws the ball it usually breaks, even a fastball, so it breaks inward so the ball gets pulled

  2. Easier to see the ball. If a lefty pitches to a lefty because hes lefthanded it will seem like his arm will be coming right to him.

  3. Because a left-handed batter can track the pitch from a right-handed pitcher better and vise-versa.

  4. It's not necessarily.  It all depends on the pitcher and the hitter.  Left handed hitters do not see left-handed breaking balls very often.  That is a ball breaking away from them.  So when a left handed pitcher is in the game, some might say the left-handed hitter is at a disadvantage.  Right handed hitters see balls breaking away from them quite often, so it is not a disadvantage for a right handed hitter to face a right handed pitcher.  A Left handed curve ball breaks toward a right handed hitter, so again no disadvantage here.

  5. it is easier for the batter to hit the ball and see it coming out of the pitchers hand a left vs. lefty is the toughest.

    Go Cubs!!!!!!

  6. It's easier to pick up the off-speed pitch right out of the hand.
