Baseball Questions...??????

I know that Yahoo Answers is a good website to find out answers to questions. I have to admit...maybe I havn't looked up some of the information that I've given and it's gotten me a lot of thumbs down...but some questions in the baseball section are horrible today. I was just wondering why people don't look up information first before they ask...unless it's a poll. For example...Are the Anahiem Angles still in the standings? Anyone could go to ESPN or a sports site to figure that out! Grill me if you want to...I was just wondering.

  1. U have a point, but some people may be that far out of the loop.

  2. I agree with you, but what's even better when you see a question like:

I just cut off my finger...what should I do? (Please hurry.)

    or

My sister has stopped breathing. What could it be?

Total morons out there. Really scary and sad.

  3. The Angles are one h**l of a team this year, maybe the best, and thats coming from a rays fan.

  4. Yahoo is worldwide.  There are people on the Yahoo/sports from all over.  Sometimes someone who lived in the States while in school might post a question, maybe because they don't know where to start to get an answer.  Say the person went to school in Southern California and even went to a game in Anaheim, but can't find Anaheim in the standings.  Most of the time, you are right, the questioner is just too lazy to click on the MLB tab in Yahoo sports. But the Angels did change from Anaheim to Los Angeles several years ago and someone outside the daily loop would not necessarily know that.

  5. Because a majority of people who use this are m o r o n s. They have nothing better to do than to post stupid questions in a vain attempt at humor, to waste the time of those of us who actually try to answer legitimate questions, to get a rise out of people, or because they can think of nothing better to do with their time.

Some people think that Answers is a forum or a message board, despite Yahoo's clear description that Answers is neither, so they try to get a conversation going.

Sadly, Yahoo cannot seem to keep up with deleting questions that violate the rules, or Yahoo simply doesn't care. (Actually, the people who review reported questions are probably out-sourced, so they really don't care.)

    Answers needs to be moderated.

But getting bad to just plain dumb questions that actually do seek information, I'm willing to best that most come from kids who wouldn't be able to figure out how to cook a hot dog. This is because today's teachers don't flunk the kids who deserve flunking. When I was in school, we were taught to be independent and resourceful: to think before seeking help -- qualities that are becoming rare in kids these days.

  6. I agree with you 100% and it's not just the baseball section that stuff is like that, I've seen some pretty stupid questions

  7. No kidding. Most of the questions are just the same old things repeated daily.

    "who will win XYX award?"

    "who hates this team?"

"what is this guy's batting music?"

"am I good enough to play baseball?"

    on and on and on

And most of the rest are people trolling to annoy fans of a rival team.

c**p like this is why I lost my Top Contributor tag for Baseball. I stopped answering questions because it was just the same thing, ad nauseum.

  8. I agree

  9. totally agree

  10. Yeh the questions should really be about opinions cos anyone can look up facts.
