Baseball Update: MLB- Texas Rangers are in to win it, Angels are right behind them
The Texas Rangers, who performed pretty well this season and have carved their way to the playoffs. Their hard work has put them in the position they are in and they are not just satisfied at being there and hanging. The Rangers have every intention to win the title this season and show dominance in the playoffs.
Rangers brought the regular season to an awesome end with superb performances that saw them finishing at the top spot in the AL West rankings. The nine game lead that they had established reflected their extravagant regular season ending in a best way possible.
The Rangers are all set and ready to prove all those people wrong who said that they would just be hanging in the playoffs. The addition of Cliff Lee into their team does give them an edge over other teams but they are intending to win this season. In a statement, the Rangers said that they wanted to win, not because of other team’s mistakes but because of their abilities.
Texas is so hungry to seal the title this season that they are still trying to acquire players in key positions. Players like Bengie Molina, a veteran of the sport, who is also a World Championship winner is amongst the players being added. The addition of players like him not only brings tons of experience but also the tactics of how to move in the playoffs, and finally win a title.
Furthermore, the Texas Rangers added Jorge Cantu to their squad with this career statistics that have 54 RBI’s to help out on the first base position. However, with Kinsler going out with his disabilities made some feel that the Rangers were done for good. The Ranger’s response to this signed the two times All-Star Christian Guzman to boost up their chances further for a championship.
With the addition of these players, it seems that the Rangers are done adding players to their squad and ready to take up the challenge. Not only be in the running for the title but win it. Nevertheless, they are still not done with adding players.
The Rangers long time interest in bringing Adam Dun still exists. The moves and steps that the Rangers are taking are surely to put them amongst the favourites and they would rather be threat to the New York Yankees, one of the favourites to win this season.
However, as some of the powerhouses in the MLB, the Angels were expected to pull off deals like these, so that they do not finish second best at the end. Although this is what the Angel fans wanted and were screaming but none were heard and the Angels administration preferred doing what they thought is in the best of the interest for the team.
Moreover, the Angels are one of the top teams in the MLB and one that can surely be regarded as in the running for the title but the slow response and their unwillingness to bring up players may result in Angels finishing second best or even down at the end of the season. The Angels are one team that is regarded as one of the best team that could reach glory but like Atlanta Braves, they are a team who seems satisfied with what they have right now rather than being content to achieve greatness.
Angels with their decision that they took, has led them to widespread criticism from fans and experts alike, who knows these decisions might lead them to a road that has underachievement and disappointments at its end. The Angels will however, get a chance to get hold of some players that might possess the potential to turn the outcome of a match during the offseason. What happens at the playoffs remain to be seen.
The Angels contention is also hindered by current performances that Yankees are putting up and now as expected by the Rangers, if they perform they might come on top of the Angels. The deals that have been signed thus far give the Rangers and edge over the others and outs them in a strong position in the playoffs.
