When a baseball player hits a ball with his bat doesn't that send a shock wave through his body, ending up in his brain? Could it be that every time he hits a ball he has a small sub-concussion?

  1. Sure, but it would not compare to the cumulative total of taking 5000+ steps per day which would also send miniscule shock waves to the brain as well.

  2. I dont think so...the only head injury i got was when a pitch hit me on my forehead.

And plus, when players take batting practice they hit tons of baseballs, and nothing bad happens.

  3. If this were true, I think that there would be an unusual amount of organic brain problems in retired baseball players. The tendency would have been noticed before this. I think virtually all the force is absorbed before it gets to the brain.

  4. With the way Ryan Church has been playing and he has repeatedly getting hurt it is very possible

  5. I don't know, I got my concussion from getting hit in the head.

  6. no
