...Are those teams located in the same city/state/general area as your favorite baseball team?

I'm a Red Sox & Patriots fan. I've always tried to follow the Celtics, but I'm not about to call myself a fan when I don't really know a ton about them or their history, like I do w/ the Red Sox & Pats.

So the two teams I follow are in the same area.

how about you?

  1. I follow the A's/Giants, 49ers, and the Sharks. So yeah, all of my teams are around my area. I do like some teams outside of my area though, like the Mets, the Colts, and the Packers.

  2. Even though I don't live in MN anymore, I'm still a Twins/Vikings fan. But basketball & hockey bore me, plus they weren't part of our household growing up, so I don't follow the Wild & Timberwolves. My mom's a HUGE Twins/Vikings/Wolves fan though, and she's almost 68. She even plays fantasy sports.

    Wow, did I go offtopic...lol.

  3. I grew up in Green Bay, so the Packers are in my blood. (So is Brett Favre-rotten Packer power heads)

    But, baseball is by far my favorite sport- Milwaukee Brewers

    I also enjoy Badger Football. College football games are like a huge party

    (all 3 teams are within 3 hours of one another-Wisconsin)

  4. I grew up in LA a Dodger Fan in a family largely made up of Laker fans.

    I did love the Lakers of the 70s and 80s because they were a very accessible team.  Many of the players hung out locally after practice and they always had time to chat during appearances...so unlike the "stand in line for an hour, hand the guy something to sign and then move along" events that they have today.

    Since my college years I've generally been a fan of Big 10 Football and some other college sports.  For whatever reason, I've lost interest in every other professional sport other than baseball.

  5. Yes they are. Besides the White Sox, I like the Bulls, Blackhawks, and the Bears (I still regret it). But I also used to live in Dallas, so I like the beloved Cowboys, the Mavs, and the Stars. No time for a baseball team for Texas, White Sox are too important to me.

  6. Lakers, Angels, Raiders, USC

    those 4 are near me (raiders used to be in LA)

    I also like Vikings(Cris Carter+ Randy Moss baack in the days), Michigan State(NCAAB)

    these two i took a liking to when I was growing up even though they're like a couple time zones away.

  7. i live in Texas and love the Ranger's, but unlike most sports fan in texas, i dont like the cowboys, i like the Colts. Also a Red Raider (texas tech) fan, where most fans in texas (at least south texas where i live) either like UT or A@M, and the Astros

  8. Im gonna sound like a huge frontrunner when i say this but i have reasons for all the teams that i love. In order my favorites:

    1. New York Yankees- Im from new york

    2. San Antonio Spurs- My dad is a spurs fan

    3. New York Giants- Im from new york

    4. Indianapolis Colts- my grandpa is from baltimore(baltimore colts)

    5. New York Rangers- Im from new york

  9. Die Hard fan of the Ohio teams

    Browns

    Indians

    Buckeyes

    Blue Jackets

    I hate basketball...........

  10. oakland raiders(nfl), oakland a's(mlb)golden state warriors(nba)

  11. I love Baseball (Go Cubs Go), I can watch football, but not regularly. College Basketball is great, especially the NCAA tournament. Professional basketball is staged, and reminds me of roller derby. Professional basketball needs to set some rules that everybody must follow, and many of the referee's are on the take. Hockey was good at one time, but now is nothing but a bunch of goons beating up on each other.

    Did I miss anything? Oh, Golf has to be the most boring thing since bowling to be put on TV, and Nascar is a bunch of people who like to watch marbles roll around, and around in a bowl.

  12. I'm a Yankee/Net/Giant fan myself, so I guess you can say I do kind of favor the local teams.

  13. Yes they are.

    Growing up, it was much easier to become a fan of teams that were broadcast on local TV stations.  And, going to the actual stadiums where they play and watching games really turns you into a fan.

  14. Cubs and Bears.  I moved from the Chicago area to Portland, so I've followed the Blazers for over 10 yrs now (the only team in town, unfortunately).  But I still pay attention to how the Bulls are doing.

  15. I follow the Dodgers, Lakers and Trojans.

    But my sister got me into the Miami Dolphins, that's the team she learned football with. She taught me more about football while watching Dolphins games. And since we don't have a NFL team in LA, I just started identifying myself as a Dolphin fan. Then I studied up on my history and now I consider myself a loyal fan.

  16. I am a New York fan. Yankees, Giants, and Rangers. The only one I don't follow is the Knicks but that's because I really don't like basketball.

  17. My favorite sports are dog and cat shows and they are in every city. Sometimes even in the same city I'm in.

  18. All of my favorite teams are Kansas City teams - except hockey.  We don't have a hockey team anymore, so I root for the Alaska Aces in the ECHL (my sister lives in AK) and the St. Louis Blues in the NHL.  We don't have a basketball team either, but I don't watch enough pro basketball to really care enough to pick a favorite team.

  19. Yeah im yankees pats, like you tried to follow the green, watched the championship game but eh its not for me. Yes i live very close to gillette stadium though ive never been to a pats game : ' ( but the only reason i like the yankees is cause my dad is and brought me up that way.....

  20. For the most part yes.

    I am a HUGE Yankees and Rangers fan. But since I moved from the Northeast to FL I have adopted the Lightning and the Bucs are new favorites simply due to accessibility.

  21. Cardinals and Lambs (Rams) I don't follow hockey and we don't have professional basketbasll in STL.  I don't care for the NBA anyway.

  22. For the most part, yes.

    Cleveland Indians

    The Browns

    The Cavs  (during the playoffs)

    Notre Dame & a lot of the SEC teams, Boston College

    North Carolina - College basketball   =o`)

  23. Two of my favorite teams are in the same state. I follow the University of Tennessee in college football and the Titans in pro football. UT is in Knoxville TN while the Titans are in Nashville. The cities are about 3 hours apart. My baseball team is nowhere near TN as I am a big Cubs fan!!!

  24. I'm from North Jersey and your theory does not work at all for me.

    MLB-Yankees

    NFL-Browns

    NCAAF-Notre Dame

    NCAAB-North Carolina and NC State

  25. I only follow the pats and celtics when they're in the playoffs.

  26. 1. I'm from California and the Lakers and Sf49ers are the only teams located in Cali

    The Yankees on the other hand are not

    P.S Greta , dont go for the Celtics i dont like them :]

  27. Yes. I'm a A's fan, Raiders fan, and Warriors fan. The A's and the Raiders play at the same park and the Warriors play right next door. So basically. they're all next door to each other, you barely have to walk. Good Question. Here's a star =]

  28. Well i was a born New Yorker and I like the BOSTON RED SOX,Dallas Cowboys,and The BOSTON CELTICS. I also love the Giants and Red wings LOL JUST KIDDING

    For  Hockey I like the The Pittsburg penquins.I could've had the Red Sox,Celtics and Penquins if they didin't lose to Detriot.Notice i like all teams that hate the New York teams lol.I am hated in the streets with my Papblebon,Owens,Garnett,Crosby jersey in the NY streets.Oh yea I followed these teams since I was born I chose the Sawx from a young age like 5 and the Celtics and Cowboys.I got into hockey 4 yrs ago and I liiked the  Pens because NEW YORK HATES THEM!

  29. Most of the teams i like are from the city & one from out the state.

    MLB= Yankees

    NFL=Giants

    NHL= Islanders

    NBA= Nets

    College Basketball= St John's

    College Football=Oklahoma Sooners

    WNBA= Liberty

  30. In football I like the Steelers & Redskins, college football I like Ohio State & college basketball I like Duke, because I had an ex-girlfriend who liked them & she got me interested in college basketball & that was her favorite team. The Steelers is because my girlfriend is from Pa & I try to root for them because of her & she does the same for me when the Redskins play.
